About Us
The Birmingham Sportshall League has been providing indoor athletics for young athletes in the Birmingham Area for almost 30 years.

The current clubs are Birchfield Harriers, Halesowen C&AC, Royal Sutton Coldfield AC, Solihull & Small Heath AC and Tamworth AC.

Previous Clubs include Sparkhill Harriers, Dudley & Stourbridge Harriers, Birmingham Rowheath, Cannock & Stafford, Bromsgrove and Redditch, Tipton Harriers (let me know if you can remember any more!)

League History
The first few years were spent at the Woodcock Street Baths, part of Aston University. A converted swimming pool which had a banked seating area and low roof which helped create an electric atmosphere.
Aston Villa Leisure Centre was used for regional and National Finals, now these are held at the NIA or NEC.
The league moved it's Friday night meetings to the new sportshall at Great Barr School and more recently to it's present home at Stockland Green Leisure Centre (Part of Josiah Mason College).
Former sportshall athletes
The most famous of our former competitors is Mark Lewis-Francis, Olympic Gold medallist 4x100m in Athens.

Will have to get a full list done of all our other success stories.
If anybody has a good picture of sportshall (and all athletes included are happy for it to be displayed) please send me a copy.

Mother met this chap at a bus stop in Helsinki.

If anyone can tell me who it is and which event he is very good at I will provide a prize!
